Joseph was pretty chuffed to win the top goal scorer award for Team Gosforth. Presented by Jamie Sterry from Newcastle United.
Robin in Year 6 has been writing a Book Review blog! It is here
It is great. Please take time to have a look and let him know what you think.
Our choir sang at the City Hall yesterday with all the other schools from the Ouseburn Learning Trust. This is the 10th year in a row that the schools have performed. The standard gets better and better and better.
A few thank yous; firstly to Mrs Powley and her team for working so hard with the children to produce a stunning performance, to you for coming to support the children and of course to the children themselves. The stars of the show.
Mr Knight took the children to the Cross country championships. They did brilliantly!
We had a great time taking part in the Ouseburn Learning Trust APP Challenge. The project has run since Christmas and Year 5/6 have been beavering away designing APPs for Great North Children’s Hospital. All Year 5/6 classes got to go and visit the Hospital to find out more about the children there and what kind of APPs may help them during their stay.
They then returned to school to begin to design and code their ideas. Holly from the ‘Ouseburn Learning Trust’ helped develop our ideas.
The event culminated with a presentation to 4 Judges at Heaton Manor School. All children gave a great account of themselves. The icing on the cake was that Class 9 won! Their APP will appear on the APP store soon(ish)! We will of course let you know when this happens!
The school would like to thank all who helped organise and drive the event.
Below are some slide shows of the process and the event itself.
Miss Jackson’s class treated us to a fantastic Class Assembly! We got to find out about their years work to date in an interesting and varied way! She was very nervous beforehand; she didn’t need to be!
Well we just had too!
Key Stage 1 looked a little different today! The only thing that was missing was the slate with the chalk. A new fangled invention(pencils and paper) was used. We will have to see if it catches on.
